This is clause 7 of the licence agreement, reproduced in full. It is the only statement about what leaves your Mac, and it is the one the agreement binds us to.

Privacy and network connections

The Software collects no telemetry or analytics, creates no user accounts, and transmits neither the contents nor the names of your files. The only network connections are:

a) those you expressly initiate when connecting to remote servers (SFTP, SMB, WebDAV, S3, or others you configure);

b) the activation of your licence, described in clause 3.2, when you request it;

c) the update check, which is optional and remains off unless you turn it on. It fetches a version file over HTTPS and never downloads or executes anything by itself.
